1. Most teams have their own Therapists on staff. If you are looking in the phone book it is under Occupational Medicine.. They get the fancy title. We just go to plain old physical therepists..
2. It's true - most teams have their own physical therapist on staff. No high level professional sports team would be without one. In the past, it was not unusual to find one that was with more than one team (for example, a baseball team and a football team). However, nowadays, with a particular sports' seasons expanded and training being year round, a team's physical therapist usually works for only that one team. Physical therapists have undergone extensive training. The type of therapy used is of general physical conditioning and also pertains to the particular physical needs of the particular sport that their team is involved in.
