What team in Major League baseball has the most delusional fans alive in history?
My vote would go for the Chicago Cubs fans as they constantly say "This could be the year", and without fail they keep right on loosing. Up to 100 years now without a World Series win. No other professional sports team in the world has a losing streak at 100 years long. And the funny thing is, not only does the team stink real bad but they keep selling out the stadium. The owners have no incentive to change anything to insure a winning season. Why should they? The team makes money.

- Red Sox fans.
- Red Sox fans cause the Sox suck
- You make up a very good point. There's also the fact in remembering that the cubs were supposed to be one of the playoff teams last year, and THAT didnt happen. On mlb the show 07, they were rated number 1, can you believe that?!?!?!? How can they make such huge moves such as signing Soriano and Ted Lily and still fail. Im sorry, but they just disappoint me.
- This is what makes Chicago Cubs fans the most loyal in the MLB. NO other team would have the stadium sold out EVERY game if they havent won a world series in 100 years! Plus Wrigley Field is different then other stadiums. Alot of us are friendly ppl. I personally go to get drunk and check out the pretty ladies by the bleachers!! Cant beat that:)
- The most delusional fans probably might be Yankee Fans. Especially because Roger Clemens got indited from the Mitchell report. Also baseball is all they have because face it, the Knicks won't win. And about the cap room for the Cubs. They spent over 100 million dollars on Alfonso Soriano and he became a big dissapointment. And the resigned Carlos Zambrano for 5 years and who knows how much money. And if you add Derek Lees salary and Aramis Remeriz, it goes up a ton. So that is why they need money
- Cubs fans may be delusional, but you have to admire their loyalty (at least the ones who actually follow the team and not the ones who just go to Wrigley to drink beer and ogle chicks) The Cubs did make the playoffs last year, so they don't "stink". They should win the Central again this year.
- There are several candidates -- 1. Yankee fans: because they feel they are ENTITLED to championships every year. 2. Met fans: because after much $$$ spent, same results. 3. Red Sox fans: because they are just paranoid bout the Yanks. 4. Philly fans: because after 10000 franschise losses, everything will turn around this year or next year.. or soon. Only Marlins fans are not delusional because they win every 7 years. The 6 years in between are expected garbage. They are ready to make that run for 2010. :oP
- I used to say the Red Sox fans, but with 2 recent championships, that can no longer be true. I would have to say the Chicago Cubs, every year, the possibility is there and every year, the disappointment is what is experinced for them. Also, in knocking my own team the Yankees, I have to say that there are a few delusional fans out there as well, for they feel that the Yankees should win it every year and go ballisitc when they don't.
- I really don't want to say anything, I think it's sort of rude, sorry.
- Red Sox Fans are the most delusional...they're mistaking a few good years for "history." Their organization was garbage for almost 100 years.
- no matter who you root for, yankees or sox, its the sox fans. the boston fans walk out on their team if they start losing. it always seems there are problems in the stands... like 10 times last year. i definitely agree, however, that the cubs r a close second. def a good question
- I would say the Pirates. The fans put up with losing every year and don't revolt.
- I guess i will have to ride the middle of the road here..I am just now trying to recover from foot ball.. LOL But i suppose my first love was baseball..but really no body is bad till the fat lady sings.. so if you say the Cubs I'll go along with you..I live a few hundred miles from Atlanta.. and maybe a little more to St. LOuis.. and i have to this day seen a big team play..But would love to one day. Ummmm let this old fat lady sing you a chorus of Take me out to the ballgame...LOL (mind you I aint that fat but i can sing..)
- Philadelphia Phillies they think there team is just so goooood, reality check, your second best pitcher is like 45
- I would say Red Sox fans. Their recent sucess notwithstanding, they hadn't won anything on over 80 years, while being absolutely dominated by the Yankees. Yet their ridiculous fans talked about them like they were the ones with 26 rings. At least the Cubs fans I know are aware that their team has sucked for years. and to the answerer Brandon, above me, the Phillies top 2 pitchers are Brett Myers and Cole Hamels -both in their twenties, and both would be the ace on most teams in MLB.
- I don't think the faith of Cubs fans makes them delusional, they know going into the season that they are going to fail, someway or somehow their season will come crashing down on them. They are fully aware of the situation going on. I think that this honor goes to several teams, the Yankees, Red Sox, and Cardinals being the big three (I'm from STL, so this isn't biased). Fans of all three of these teams expect their teams to win it all every year. There is a huge difference between rooting hard for a team and thinking they are championship quality. Fans of these teams expect 100 wins and a world series every year no matter what.
- Yankee fans bye far. they think that the yankees are that much better then every other team every year and get uptite and make excuses when they loose in the playoffs.
- team clemens and team bonds
- Red Sox fans because all you hear about everywhere you go is how great their team is, even though they've only won 2 championships in the past 89 years... you go to a ball game whether it be in Cleveland, Toronto, Pittsburgh, etc, and you see Red Sox jerseys and hats, even though their not playing that team, because they seem to think that you need to know that they are Red Sox fans and that makes them a hell of a lot better than you... secondary delusional awards go to Sports Illustrated and ESPN because they seem to have a soft spot for "Red Sox Nation", pasting them on the cover every other week, or in ESPN's case, plastering Red Sox Nation stories all over their webstie or showing you a mini-documentary on how some kid's dog predicted the Sox would win, or some loser telling us about how he named his kid Yaz...
- The "Sawx"
- Gee, another jealous White Sox "fan" targeting Cubs fans. Get another schtick. Cubs fans are just that - FANS. Win or lose. We support our team whether it's one bad year or a hundred. And there's a lot more to baseball than seven games and a title. And guess what? WHEN we do get that title, it's going to mean more to us than anyone. And that, my dear, makes it all worthwhile.
